Asthma is a chronic condition that involves the
respiratory system where the airways constrict occasionally, become inflamed,
and are lined with great amounts of mucus.
Singulair is used to prevent attacks of asthma.
It is also used to treat seasonal allergic reactions such as sneezing and runny
nose. It can be used for other purposes as well.
Before taking Singulair, inform your doctor if you have
allergy to any drugs (particularly aspirin), or if you experience liver
disease. Use Singulair as it is prescribed for you.
Dont take Singulair for treating an asthma attack
which has already started. It wont work swift enough to remove the symptoms.
A fast-acting inhalation medicine must only been used to treat an asthma attack.
It may take Singulair several weeks to improve your symptoms. For
best results, use the medication as prescribed. Speak to your doctor
if your symptoms dont improve after some weeks of treatment.
Tell your doctor about any unusual or troublesome side
effect such as skin rash, numbness, muscle weakness, tremors, headache, nausea,
upset stomach, diarrhea, mouth pain, dizziness, sore throat, cough, stuffy nose.
